In true form Maddie takes after her father to pretty much the fullest. A lighter, reddish shade of brown micks that of the paternal gene pool, the curling, thickness of it also stemming from dear old dad. At five feet, five inches she seems to be a perfect medium between tall and short, all to average in most ways. Being only one hundred and fifteen pounds gives her little advantage in circumstances of power/strength. Even if she is does have a good deal of muscle considering working out proves to be a great stress reliever for her. This she also gets from her father as he was a mere five feet, eleven inches & barely one sixty. Most describe her as being lean as opposed to truly skinny, though at a glance someone would get that impression. Long legs refuse to help her in the slightest as they are some what clumsy and make her appear taller than she really is. Oddly enough Maddie has always wished she was taller and instead of lean or thin a bit more chunky and way more fit. Though perhaps that might have something to do with her lack of self respect.
Her sense of fashion is another thing her father passed down, the sense of practicality & comfort over style and appeal making it's way down the family tree. Which translates to primarily, jeans, sneakers, & sweat shirts/t-shirts. Really there are only two things she inherited from her mother, both of which have always defined her. The first and most obvious would be her eyes. An odd aqua (green/blue) color set in an expressive way. As expected her eyes seem to be the first thing others notice about her making them of course a defining feature. The second, less noticeable thing her mother passed would be the love of art, but that's a different matter entirely. However the artistic tendency shows up in a manner at the height of expression, tattoos. For the most part Maddie's body is covered in tattoos representing the stories she writes, every time she finishes a piece she gets a tattoo to remember it. Mostly the tattoos are in places she does not show off, in fact the only one who has ever seen the tattoos besides her self has been her tattoo artist and/or doctor. They are primarily found above the lower back and below her shoulder blades. Needless to say she doesn't spend a lot of time at the beach. Then again the scars on her body from self inflicted harm don't make for great conversation pieces which gives her another reason to cover up...
LOVER I DON'T HAVE TO LOVE!
Some tend to think of Maddie as bipolar because of how it seems that she changes so quickly. Really she is not, more or less she's just different for different people, something which to her equates to adaptability. Around her friends, which remain few, she's in your face, childish, hyper, and some have called her a loaded gun, ready to go POW with the slightest pressure. To strangers she's shy, withdrawn, and not in the least bit talkative, really it's kind of sad, it's like she'd rather go unnoticed, really she would give anything to be invisible. So which one is the real Maddie? Both. It's a simple matter of comfort levels. Around her friends she can be herself, be careless, be more or less a "wild child", well for the most part, really she seems to hide more when she's around her friends, too afraid to let them see how scared she really is. However around strangers she feels self conscious, like every move she makes is being watched, naturally making her more cautious, more wary of what she may or may not see, it could be compared to that of the nature of a wild animal. It just takes time for Maddie to warm up to others, though she's always still cautious to a certain extent, but once you get her to come around it all seems worth it. You'll have a friend for life, someone who will be there for you till the very end, she'll stop a bullet to protect someone she love.
Most stereotype her as the artist sufferer type, but really what they don't realize is that in all honesty she truly is the suffering artist they speak of. It's not hard to tell that Maddie suffers from severe depression, she even has turned to cutting herself as a result. It's the guilt of her parent's death that has made that way, it also doesn't help that she is virtually alone in the world. The final thing a person really should know about Madeline is that with her suffering comes anger and she is most definitely not shy about showing it. Fights are not uncharted territory for Maddie, in fact she often gets into scraps, whether she know she'll lose of not. For her it's a fun to release her anger. Aside from that Maddie is a rather peaceful person, often keeping to herself, more or less she's the quiet type, but for her it works. To her it means others wont expect as much of her, which in the end works out wonderfully...
DON'T KNOW WHEN
BUT A DAY IS GONNA COME!
BUT A DAY IS GONNA COME!
A fashion capital Paris seems like a nice enough city. Right? Well not for Maddie, nope the home of the eifel tower, the city she was born to holds all the memories she'd much rather forget. The memories she'd give anything to forget. It started well before she was born, her mother, Jaqulene Marie La'Vae, met her father, Christoph Laraunt Pascal, when she was barely an adult and he was a fugitive of the law. Pascal had a thing for causing mischief, he always had really, in fact when he met his future bride, Jaqulene he was pulling some kind of disruption. La'Vae on the other hand was of an upper middle class family and was a student at a school of fashion, she had no time for pranks, no time for such things as fun. The way she had been raised, fun was something seldom had, unless you count fun as being hand sewing a million tiny little beads to you latest design, or sketching till your hands ached with pain. You see the unlikely pair grew up in completely different worlds, Christoph was the son of a janitor and a waitress, the middle child of seven children while Jaqulene was the only child of a thriving business man and a home maker. Once Jaqulene's parents discovered her passion for fashion they pushed her to the brink to become the best she could. Though they did it out of love Jaqulene's parents didn't realize that they were taking the joy out of a once loved hobby.
So it was in a train station that Christoph & Jaqulene first crossed paths. Yes it does seem rather like a hopeless romantic, soppy, stereotypical sob story, but in fact it would be anything but. It wasn't until their next encounter that they actually talked and things began to take off from there. They had officially met at a party at the college Jaqulene was attending, it seems that they had a mutual friend. Well they recognized one another and began talking as well as drinking. Soon they were drunk and moments later they were in Jaqulene's bed. The next morning they went their separate ways, a sense of awkwardness hanging in the air, then a week later they went on their first date, followed by another the following month. Quickly they grew apart, too different to try and make things work, or so they thought. Three months after the party Jaqulene discovered, much to her dismay, that she was pregnant, three months exactly. At first she debated what to do and deciding she couldn't kill the baby nor give it up the next option was to either go it alone or tell Christoph whom she had no doubt was the father. Stupidly she called him, told him, and of course he was skeptic that it was indeed his.
Six months to the day after being deemed existing Madeline Jane Pascal was born. Though Christoph wasn't sure it was his child he had decided to first see the baby then get a blood test to see if it actually was his. Well the blood test was unnecessary as Maddie came out looking more or less exactly like her father, except for the eyes, the eyes she inherited from Jaqulene. After seeing his daught Christoph knew it was time he turned himself around for his little girl and so he did, finding a job, a home, everything needed for what now he considered his family. Even if Jaqulene did not want to be with him. It wasn't long before they were on the run, in fact since Madeline can remember her and her family have been running, moving, hiding, all because the division wanted her and wanted her father dead.
You see along with looks Madeline also inherited a little gift from her father, a clairvoyant smell sort of thing. Since her father had always been a trouble maker he had gained notice from the Division quickly and with the birth of Madeline the Division assumed a great threat from the family. Especially when Madeline began to talk and share her information with others. Not to mention Jaqulene was now in on it, she herself had no gift and was stunned to find that Christopher did. She was also quite pissed when she found out her daughter inherited it and thus had a bounty on her head. None the less it put a rift between the family, well one even bigger than the original one that is.
Life wasn't all too easy on the run, but somehow they all seemed to make the best of it and from an early age Madeline took up writing and reading and drawing to replace the void of stability she felt in her life. At the age of ten the Division got her mother and with out consequence killed Jaqulene, nearly killing Maddie as well. Her father had come in time to save her, just not her mother. Everyday Madeline seems to blame herself for the death of Jaqulene Marie La'Vae, even if there was nothing she could have done to stop it. So for seven years it was just Maddie and her father, traveling about France, hiding from those who wanted nothing more than to destroy them, many times nearly achieving their task. It was at the age of seventeen that the Division finally caught up with them as they were heading to the air port to catch a plain to America, thought being that they would have more luck there.
Christoph knew that only one of them would make it out alive, so he told Madeline to run as he led them away from her. Watching both of your parents die to save you tends to mess with a person's head, at least it did for Madeline. Ever since that day she's hasn't been able to sleep through one night, always waking from night terrors, reliving the death of those she cared for most over and over again. Since her arrival in America Maddie has been nearly everywhere, living her life the way she always had; on the run. Well that all changed when she turned nineteen, she had decided she had had enough and so she packed up for the last time and made her way to sunny California settling down as a writer in Venice beach. However things have deteriorated through out the years as she's become more and more depressed, her stories turning darker and darker. For the most part she's been alone, not one for socializing, really the only person she sort of knows would be the tattoo artist she's had since she moved to Venice. Every time she finishes a story she gets a tattoo of it, and it's always been Zach who has done it.
Now one might not see how this is important, but see as she's becoming more depressed and her stories become more darker Zach has no doubt notice. Especially after the last time she went for a tattoo. See to escape her night mares, to let out her pain just a little at a time Maddie has begun to cut, and the last time she went for a tattoo she knew Zach got a glimpse of the cuts on her thigh. Which makes her scarred and curious about what happens next...
