slow it down, make it stop before my heart is going to pop • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Heat. The unbareable heat that was a signature to Key West weather during the day and between Callum and Gloria at night back when they were dating. The tossing and turning beneath the sheets, hell it was never limited to the bedroom.
Gloria was surprised she never got pregnant.
And he missed her...alot. She couldn't find her voice to say that she felt the same...That she had felt like something was missing for so long but what it was she never knew up until now. That what she was missing was that one emotion she only experienced as a human: Love. Callum. Yet here she was, so close to him she could breathe in his delicious scent, feel his warm skin, feel the adrenaline pumping through her veins...
"Cal..." Her voice came out just as soft, if not softer as her eyes wavered, her fingers crawling up the inside of his shirt as if wanting to pull him closer, but controlling her actions-just in case. Her finger tips lightly brushed against his skin, warmth against warmth.
This longing feeling...It consumed Gopi until she was virtually nonexistant. As if she never was. Gloria had taken over completely. This was her Callum-not Gopi's. These were her memories, her bliss, her happiness. Fuck Gopi. Despite the fact that Gopi was a bitch and that without her, Gloria would probably six feet under the ground right now...
And as if nothing had ever changed between them, as if no time had passed, she was able to kiss him like she used to, the fingers of her hand gently clawing at his chest. The kiss started off sweet and gentle, one of those typical goodbye and hello kissed Gloria used to practically shower him with. He still tasted sweet, still tasted pure, still tasted like she remembered...
Exactly like she remembered.
And exactly like she remembered, she seemed to easily move into the transition between as sweet kiss and one that had more passion behind it. She was still controlloing herself, in the back of her mind, and reminding herself not to push herself too far or she would end up hurting him. At the same time, however, she was letting her body go on instinct, on what Gloria-what she-naturally wanted. And after years of not being with Callum, maybe that was what was being unleashed? From not simply being in his presense for too long...

DON’T BE SO AMAZING,
I’LL MISS YOU TOO MUCH. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It almost felt like this was going to go on forever. They’d sway and breath and listen and speak and almost touch. But nothing like he felt like they should. Literally, the moments dragged on, one piling on top of the other. It didn’t feel right. It didn’t feel them. But the anticipation building up…he felt, could possibly be a good thing for them. Like they were pausing to remember all they had gone through. Through all the pain, all the fights, through her death and through his first of many beatings. Through it all. And then…culminating years of passion and longing into one moment. At this point…he knew they were going to fall apart some time. Gopi may have some control over Gloria, but she couldn’t have much. She’d lost to Gloria so many times already. He could only hope she would again.
And… And… They should.
She stated his name for the record as he had hers a few moments ago and, like he predicted, she was the first to let go. Her lips found his and one of the slowest, sweetest, most passion-filled kisses they had ever indulged in. It was true. Most of anything they had ever done had been quick, racy, needy. They clung to each other. Now they could barely touch each other. It was killing him. Just absolutely tearing him apart. His eyebrows furrowed as they lips danced and finally…it seemed…she couldn’t quite handle it. And God was he thankful, he really couldn’t handle it either. He hated holding out for her, being careful, making sure she’d be fine, but…she definitely was worth it.
The kiss deepened, as expected, and his hands both moved up and through her hair, just as he remembered it, before slipping down and around her waist—just as he remembered it. She was the same from head to toe, despite what was underneath her skin, she was still Gloria. She tasted the same, she looked the same, she smelled the same. Everything was the same. And he was more thankful, he’d spent so many years imaging her covered in blood, various wounds marring the beautiful skin that clung to her limbs. Depressing him. She wasn’t made for the battlefield, she was made for him.
And her hand at his chest only egged him on more, till he moved, pressing her up against the wood of the doorframe. Hell, he was sure she could take it. Anyone who could lift him with one hand could sure as hell handle being pressed against a doorframe. Slowly, as if remembering every inch, his hands moved up her sides. Forget Natasha. Forget their fights. Forget Gopi. Forget all those things they had said before and after she left. Forget…everything. They were here. She was now.

slow it down, make it stop before my heart is going to pop • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • It seemed like in one swift movement, she felt her small back touch the doorframe and get lightly pressed against it while her hands ran up his sides, taking his shirt with them, and breaking the kiss for barely a fraction of asecond to slip his shirt off before simply picking up where they left off as if they never broke away in the first place. No powers. This was going to be done the old fashioned way-like humans.
So she broke away for half a second to slip off her own shirt, letting it fall to the ground as she wrapped her arms around his neck before plummetting back into the kiss. She knew better than to use too much force. That wouldn't be good at all-leaving him bruised...or broken. That was the last thing she wanted.
Her fingers ran across his bare skin, remembering the outline and letting the memories race through her mind. Memries from the first time they touched, to the first time they actually exchanged body heat...to the very last time before she decided to pack up her things and simply leave him...
And like she used, she wrapped her long legs(long for her body at least) around his waist, gently bringing herself closer, her bare and flat stomach touching his. It had been too long since they had shared a moment like this...a new memory to add to the many she wanted to remember, marked 'never forget'. She wouldn't forget this. How could she? Not only would this be Gloria's memory-it would now become Gopi's as well. Almost like it was saved on a backup file.
Her fingers ran through his thick hair, remembering the soft texture....
"We should runaway together...." the petite brunette suggested as the young couple laid down outside at the beach on the bed of his pick up. Her slender fingers ran through his hair, his head on her beating chest. Running away. It was such a simple solution to everything...
But they couldn't. Sh knew damn well they couldn't. Not with her parents who would probably use that as an excuse to seperate them, "And go to New York City and live like bums and only have each other for warmth when it gets super cold..." He was being sarcastic, but not the asshole kind of sarcastic. The 'haha, I wish' sort of sarcastic.
He looked up at her, his chin gently on her chest as she furrowed her eyebrows together in an attempt to supress a smile, which she epiclly failed at miserably, "Don't make fun of me...it's rude..." And then she chuckled, not being able to supress it, "A gal can dream right?"
He chuckled and leaned in, giving her a sweet peck on her lips and when he pulled away he remained close,"Yeah....she can dream," he whispered softly and gently before moving her hair out of her face and kissing her again. It had been the night they had first done it...The night Gloria lost her virginity to Callum Rice.
And now here she was, years later, kissing that same man she thought was nothing but a dream. A dream she was hoping would last as long as she possibly could before she had to wake up.

DON’T BE SO AMAZING,
I’LL MISS YOU TOO MUCH. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Like he’d told her before…this all seemed so, so surreal. He couldn’t think it enough. Did she feel it? He did. It was almost scary. Like one of those dreams he’d grown accustomed to over the years, though they had been nightmares, this one seemed more like…a fantasy. Like when teenage boys dream about their favorite model or actress, Cal dreamed about Gloria…Damn. He hoped it wasn’t. This was one dream…he didn’t want to wake up from. Ever. One of those dreams you’d wake up from and try to trick your body back into falling asleep. One of those dreams that’d set you in a lull for the rest of the week. This…couldn’t be a dream. Nope.
It was torture to be away from her for the few moments she needed to pull his shirt off, though he complied, lifting his arms in the air and quickly replacing them to her sides as she tossed the useless fabric aside. It wasn’t necessary anyone. Just one layer doing nothing but keeping them apart. And…whether he wanted to stop or not, he realized he actually needed the breath, the little break. Willingly, Cal took it, before reuniting their lips, only to be left breathing heavily and pouting as she pulled away again just to rip off her own shirt. But the matter of seconds needed to complete both of these tasks ultimately didn’t mean anything in the long run. Nothing at all. All at once they were back to the same old same old. And oddly…it felt just like it did before all of the crazy shit they went through. They moved the same. They touched the same. They worked…the same.
With that in mind, Callum instinctually wrapped his arms around her, lifting her still light frame in response to the wrapping of her legs around his waist. It was quite a surprise…with all he knew was now placed behind her skin she still remained the same weight—if not lighter—she had been before: just tiny enough for him to lift with ease. With her in his grasp he stumbled backwards, back hitting the wall, a smile and small chuckle breaking through the kiss. Tons of memories suddenly flooded into his mind. Amazingly enough, all of the good ones. The first time he saw her and thought he’d seen an angel. Their first kiss. The first time they made love. Tickle fights. Long talks. All the silly childish things they engaged in. All of it, hit him full force. And in response, for a few moments everything slowed down, kisses, movements, everything. He simply leaned back against the doorframe, her in his arms.
But…of course, the pace returned to their natural rhythm and his smile vanished, lips completely absorbed in the task at hand, and he stumbled blindly into the room. Sure he’d glanced around it earlier, but his thoughts were solely on Gloria…of course. But eventually his knees hit something and he stumbled foreword landing, with Gloria, down on something soft. “Found it,” he mumbled, with a smile, before returning his lips to her neck, jaw, and finally lips. So…so much for plans for this evening. So much for Natty and distractions. So much for drinking, alone, in his apartment for several meaningless hours.
Gloria beat all of that…any day.

slow it down, make it stop before my heart is going to pop • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Amazing, breath taking, like...
She had no idea how to explain it. How to explain what happened, what she felt, why it happened...all of it. The sun's rays poured in from the large window with the white curtains, the breeze blowing as the ray hit her eyelids and she let them easily flutter open. A soft, morning sort of smile spread across her face. The thick, egyptian cotton covers were pulled up to only their waists and tangeled between their legs. And as she glanced over at him, her smile faded.
Bruises.
It looked like she beat him up in the middle of the night, and she remembered everything-she was damn sure she didn't. And she had tried so hard not to lose control...Well, if she did you might have broken a limb or a rib o two so she didn't lose all her control...Just enough to leave claw like bruises on his back and side, bruises along his lips and neck....
She looked away and locked her jaw, looking up at the top, white canopy of the bed. Jesus...
She sat up, quietly, wrapping her arms around her naked chest, her knuckles turning white from grabbing her shoulders so hard. No, she wasn't mad at him. It wasn't his fault that the Division stuck all these new things into her human body that didn't belong there. She grabbed her shoulders so hard, she was giving herself bruises without realizing it...Yes, Gee could bruise and bleed like everyone else-thoug breaking a limb would be a lot harder than before and because her limbs were stronger and lighter, it made her weigh less which made it easier to run...
She couldn't look at him, the guilt only seeped down into the pit of her stomach. She did that...those marks...And yet there he was, fast asleep like a child...Looking completely content... Gee took a deep breath and exhaled silently to kept herself calm. It was an accident....One she could have prevented. She should have been paying more attention...
But she had been so preoccupied she barely could pay attention to not overly hurting him. She could only imagine what marks she could have left from the waist down. Geeze. She had gotten so caught up in Cal she forgot that he was the one she was trying not to hurt in the first place.... status • complete word count • 556 lyrics • hallelujah, kate v credit • AMANDA IN WONDERLAND !? @ caution

DON’T BE SO AMAZING,
I’LL MISS YOU TOO MUCH. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The little twitches, sudden movements, spasms part of waking up brought him to believe that he was, in fact, waking up from this dream. This dream that involved Gloria and all her…well, Glory. Honestly, he thought—despite the softness of the sheets and the warmth of sun on his face—that he was at home. At home in his dingy old apartment. Half expected to smell and taste alcohol on his tongue, perhaps find a bottle in his hand. There was no way last night was real. Because things like that…didn’t happen. People didn’t come back from the dead. Old flames never really rekindled. That was all fairy tale crap, right? Yeah. Of course. There was no way…
But upon closer inspection he realized all these things weren’t reality… With a smacking of his gums his taste buds registered some other taste…not alcohol. Yet, something vaguely familiar. He couldn’t smell alcohol, or sweet, or anything that told him he was home. Or even at Natty’s house. Nothing seemed to make sense. Nothing. His fingers twitched and the sensation of fabric against skin forced his eyes open. White, that was all he saw. White and light. It was rather…bright. He blinked a few times, bringing his hands to his face and rubbing feebly at his eyes, his muscles still weak from a long nights sleep. Something in the back of his mind told him this was different. This place, this feeling, everything. And he started to note the achy, sore feeling in his limbs.
And…that was it.
The dream…hadn’t been a dream, had it? His eyes, wide, peered out from under his hands around the room and came to rest on an already awakened Gloria, holding tightly to her sides. Slowley a smile spread across his face and a silent thank god mouthed before he released his head back into the pillow. This was real. That was Gloria. He was here. They were here. Together. Again. “Hey,” he reached up and pulled at the fingers turning white on her side closest to him. She was holding on pretty tight…And quite frankly he didn’t know how to react…what was wrong? Call released a soft sigh and pushed himself up, continuing the light ache in his limbs as nothing more than that heavy weight of sleep still hanging on him.
“Gloria…” he whispered, kissing her shoulder and craning his neck to peer up at her. Callum reached up to brush some hair from her eyes and in the process caught sight of his arms. Little…itty bitty splotches of purple. The size of fingerprints. Like someone took a pad of ink and placed their fingerprints all over his arms…and, he realized looking down at his chest, pretty much all over his torso. Strange… That probably explained that achy feeling. Remaining just as calm as he had in his vegetative state of sleep he mentally shrugged it off and looked back at her, “You all right baby?”

slow it down, make it stop before my heart is going to pop • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Gee kept her eyes trained ahead, starring blaknly with wavering eyes at the mirror not far from them-looking directly at Callum. A bruised Callum.
Fuck.
When he finally brushed her hair out of the way and asked her what was wrong, she glanced over at him with a slightly frustrated mixed with pained expression in her eyes as they seemed to follow his outline. She did that to him...With her own two hands...
"Are you alright?" She answered his question with her own question as she ever so gently, with only the tips of her fingers, ran then over his bruised lips, down his jaw and neck, passing his collar bone and stopping on his torso before her eyes traveled back up to look at him in the face,"I should have controlled myself better..."she bit her lower lip, of course feeling horrible. He could be in pain but trying to hide it, he tended to do that-from what she could remember,"I'm sorry....I didn't even realize..." her voice faded.
Mother Fudger on a pogo stick.
She could fix him..right? Noone wanted to walk around looking like they got jumped the night before or look like they just got out of the hospital or something. Noone wanted to look like they were abused...
Yet here he was, covered in bruises because of her lack of self control...Or Gloria's lack of self control. Gopi was and currently was not present. In a way, Gopi is still in hibernation, Letting Gloria take the reigns until she did something or Callum did something to reawaken her just like he reawakened Gloria.
Her chocolate eyes wavered as her fingers very softly ran through his hair as if he were so fragile if she made one mistake she could break him. Like a precious peice of glass-one trip and it would tumble and break into a million pieces,"I have to control myself better or you'll end up like this every time..." she scrunched up her nose, the guilt and remorse written all over her face,"Are you sure you're okay...?"
Because you really don't look it.
She left the last part out. No need to tell him he looked like he got hit by a train when he could easily look in the mirror and realize this...

DON’T BE SO AMAZING,
I’LL MISS YOU TOO MUCH. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Why did she seem so worried? These mood swings were starting to get out of hand. He never really knew how she would react. Ever. It was like a surprise every time. Sure, he could get used to it, but right now his hopes were leaning more towards…not having to. Maybe…maybe this was a side effect of all she’d been through. Maybe it was like some sort of major identity crisis. In which case he should feel bad, show pity on her, something. But instead he was confused as hell. Seriously. He was fine. Verging on perfect. Had she been there last night? It would’ve been a bit depressing…and weird…if she hadn’t.
“Hey, I’m fine.” His eyebrows furrowed and he sat up fully, his body angled slightly towards her. The concern was evident on his voice. What was so wrong…? Her fingers lifted to his lips and ran down his skin and he couldn’t help but look…well, more confused. Cause, quite frankly, he was. “What?” A smile seemed to peek through it all. Bringing a slight pain to his jaw. There was that ache again. "I should have controlled myself better...I'm sorry....I didn't even realize..." Right now…he just wanted to shake her and plead what, what! But…he kind of figured she wouldn’t respond. She wouldn’t tell him. Probably just…shake her head, start to cry, apologize a couple hundred times…or she might get mad. No one liked to be shaked.
With a look of curiosity he glanced back down at his arms, the same purple spots. Oh… That was when it registered. She… They looked so much like fingerprints. Like someone had held onto his a little too hard. And maybe that was why his lips and jaw hurt…except maybe…Oh damn. He couldn’t help but smile again. If she ever thought that would keep him away from her…she was sorely mistaken. “Baby, it’s all right,” he chuckled, before glanced over at the mirror. Holy shit…he did look like a mess. And yet…he looked back at her, she looked unmarred. Hmm…he couldn’t exactly go outside without some perv on the street making a comment about how he ‘liked it rough’. That much was expected. "I have to control myself better or you'll end up like this every time…Are you sure you're okay...?"
Every time…like a child his mind went wild. Every time. He wouldn’t mind looking like this if it were going to happen frequently…meaning they were together. Again. Though after last night it was hard to think they weren’t. “Hey…” Despite the feel of her fingers in his hair he managed to scoot up right next to her and wrap his arms around her waist, clasping his hands together on her other side, and placed his chin on her shoulder, “I’m fine. I’m not…dead, right?” Though the entire event…well, it severely damaged his ego. Well…it wasn’t like he had many guy friends to tell anything to. So…what did it matter. “I’m fine.” he looked up at her, a small pout on his lips before he chuckled and gave her shoulder a small peck. “It’s not a big deal.”

slow it down, make it stop before my heart is going to pop • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • The tiny brunette seemed to exhale the air she hadn't realized she had been holding. She let out a smile of relief, though the worry was still evident in her eyes. She had to get all of this extra strength out of her...Get out whatever they put on her...Though she had the feeling if she did-she probably wouldn't be able to live for more than....a couple minutes. Without all these new organs, improved body she was nothing more than a dead corpse-according the the stats Gopi showed her about two seconds ago.
When he gave her the peck, she seemed to slowly unwind and relax a lot more as she turned in his arms and gently wrapped her legs and arms around him, giving him a sweet peck as a soft smile fell on her face. She leaned in close to his ear like it was some sort of secret and whispered ever so quietly,"You were amazing last night..." she chuckled, being completely honest as she gently placed kisses down his neck, noting that one of the bruises was a hickey...
Her fingers softly ran up and down his spine and his side, "I love you, Cal..." she said softly, looking back up at him. She meant it-those three words. She would understand if he didn't say them back-hell she didn't say it back to him back in the park.
Everyday...She would love to wake up everyday next to Cal-whether they were argueing, making love, or silently content the night before. Last night she had dreamt of something Gloria seemed to have wanted back when she was still human. A dream she knew she had had in the past...
She was waking up, in her dream, to the white comfort of the room, everything looking pure and like heaven. As her eyes slowly opened, they landed on Cal, who was silently sleeping enxt to her and as a smile crept up on her face, the sound of small feet hitting the wooden floor. She glanced up slightly towards the opened doorway before a tiny head full of milk chocolate locks appeared, eyes warm and inviting...sparkling and full of life... And as the little toddler raced inside, he wore a buzz light year flannel pajamas. He looked like he was no older than two, considering he could walk, but not with as much grace as a normal human being. He had some difficulaty but he climbed onto the bed, smiling as he suddenly jumped between them, giggling and laughing singing happily, "Shun-day! Ish Shun-Day!" he giggled again and she couldn't help but smile, the warmth flooding her system and Cal seemed to wake up, slightly startled, but then laughing as he tickled the little boy-the only one without a name in her dream.
And the little boy was in a fit of laughter before he disappeared under the covers and clung to her thin frame tightly and laughing into her chest,"Mommy! Prochect me from shuh chickle mosher!" He had a problem speaking too-it made him seem even more innocent as he clung to her and Cal just seemed to easily pull the two of them closer to his frame and he chuckled while giving her a sweet peck before smiling, "Good morning, baby..."
And that would be when she would wake up. Before she could say anything. Mommy. Everytime, the little boy would call her mommy. She didn't even know his name, this child who was apparently her son. But she couldn't have kids...They had told her that that was out of the question-it was impossible...So it was only a dream. One she actually wanted to come true. status • complete word count • 795 lyrics • ain't no other man, christina aguilera credit • AMANDA IN WONDERLAND !? @ caution

DON’T BE SO AMAZING,
I’LL MISS YOU TOO MUCH. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Finally. It all seemed better. All it took were a few sweet short words. It normally always did. Always. All he had to do was beg and plead with her and normally she gave in. Normally. Of course, there were those few times where…it didn’t work. Example? The day she just gave up and left…and the next morning left for the military without so much as a goodbye. But…that was beside the point. She was here now. And she wasn’t going anywhere. He wouldn’t let her. Though…at this point it would seem a bit pointless to fight her. At all. It seemed she was about ten times stronger than him. In a totally unfair and genetically enhanced way. He could get comfort from that thought. Her muscles weren’t natural. His were. Not to mention she was still small…fit just fine within his arms.
She adjusted, as did he, shrinking back slightly when her mouth went to his ear, whispering. He laughed, though the act was more silent than anything, the smile on his lips the only evidence that he found the comment amusing. “Only for you,” he whispered back kissing her cheek. Ok, so sure, he’d done it plenty of times with Natty before. They were always careful. And never, ever, was it something spur of the moment. Never…after a meal exchanging looks across the table. Never, right after he walked through the door, as a sort of greeting. Never after an argument. Bottom line: it was never as heated as last night had been. As all their nights had been. It was obvious, Gloria and Callum were something special. In a strange, childish, needy sort of way. His arms tightened around her torso a few kisses trailing down her neck before he looked up at her again, “You’re always amazing.” Remember, Callum never lied. Unless it might change something. What could he possibly want to change about this moment?
"I love you, Cal..." Woah, what? He sat back further on his hips, looking at her with a confused expression. His arms released her, Cal simply placed his hands on her hips. Honestly…he wasn’t expecting that. He was a bit surprised. Yesterday she’d exploded when he said that. Causing the entire episode. But…he had to remember, she was having those mood swings wasn’t she? A bit dramatic…but Gloria all the same. Releasing his features from the confused expression his lips pulled back into a rather large smile. “I love you too, baby,” He didn’t go back to holding her just yet, for some reason he couldn’t get over the fact that she’d just said that. After a moment he shook his head and wrapped his arms back around her, kissing her nose, “God, do I love you.” Wasn’t that the truth.
For a moment or two he just held her, content with that sort of closeness, and the silence it entailed. His chin rested on her shoulder and his eyes stared idley into the blank space of the wall behind her. With a few more thoughts on the subject—his love for her—he pulled back again, placing his hands on either side of her face. Cal kissed her forehead and watched her a moment more before speaking, “I felt…so lost without you, Gloria.” That was the bitter truth of it. Another kiss next to one of her eyes and then a peck to the lips and he wrapped his arms back around her. She looked even more beautiful in the sunlight…

slow it down, make it stop before my heart is going to pop • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • She listened as he said that he felt so lost without her...
Dare she admit she felt the same? Why not? If he could admit something like that, she could admit that too...right?
"Ever since I woke up," she looked directly at him,"I felt like something was missing..." she admitted this slowly. as if afraid someone would suddenly throw her in a black bag and take her away for actually speaking her mind,"The reason Gopi wanted to kill you was because she was afraid..." she bit her lower lip,"She was afraid that if she accepted all the memories...That they would shut her down completely."
Obviously, that meant they would kill her. There was no humane way to kill someone, and with her they would basically 'unplug' her like she was a dishwasher or a hairdryer. What 'unplugging' her meant they would erase her memories and simply giving her anestesia. Then they would take out all her organs and either use them to 'make' some other tracker or put it up as a donation. They'd simply let her die on the operation table.
She was just a pawn to them anyway.
"Instead of having evil parents as a problem, now we have evil agents," she chuckled, adding light to the situation-so as to not make it all so bleak. She caught his lips in her's and rested her forehead on his. Then she came out with a question out of the blue, one that Gloria and Gopi both were wondering about,"What did you do while I was gone?"
It was out of curiosity...And noone could truly blame the gal. Everyone wants to know how people would react to their death. She still wondered how everyone reacted to her's. She knew Callum...sort of how he reacted. But what did he do afterwards? He didn't have anyone else? He didn't find another girlfriend? Didn't try to move on...?

DON’T BE SO AMAZING,
I’LL MISS YOU TOO MUCH. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - That had to be a sign right? That they both felt…something was wrong? Or at least in her case. Callum knew something was wrong. She was gone. And along with her a valuable piece of his heart. One she’d put there in the first place. He’d grown so used to it…his body decided it couldn’t really continue without it. He needed her like his heart needed a beat. Like his eyes needed a sight and like his lungs needed air. She was the beat, the sight, the air. And it was growing awful difficult to survive without her. So…like a parasite he’d latched himself on to Natasha, hoping she’d have something to offer. And she did, she satisfied for the time being. However…not fully. It was like the difference between a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a steak. For a full grown man…PB&J just won’t cut it. But a steak…
Not to compare Gloria to a steak by any means. In fact…that would be the furthest thing away from how he’d describe her… Ah, he was just digging himself into a mental hole.
The idea of anyone ‘shutting’ her down was terrifying. Ending her? Stopping her? Killing her? To go through pain like that all over again would be a first class ticket to his own personal hell. And he was the only passenger on board. There was no way he’d ever let that happen again, “Glory, I’ll never let anything happen to you.” One of Cal’s hands came up and ran gently through her hair, the sunlight reflecting off of her—at this angle—made her look more supernatural than human. He couldn’t help but be constantly amazed by her beauty. To him it was the ultimate form of ‘beauty’. All the world wonders rolled into one, mixed with the mystery of the stars, the wild-side of the woods, and the innocence of animal cubs at play. It was a weird metaphor. But she was the world to him. In all of its wonder. “I’d rather forget temporarily than lose you completely.” Even if his mind was wiped…there was still the chance of his memory catching up with him. There was always a possibility.
Evil agents. He too indulged in a chuckle, though they seemed just a tad bit more dangerous than evil parents…it was quite hilarious to think of a bunch of old guys—for that was how he saw it—forbidding her to never talk to him again, he was trouble, grounding her. Gloria stamping up the stairs to her bedroom, where she’d find Callum. Like a re-run of the old days with men in lab coats and oversized glasses for parents. How entertaining. He warmed up to the kiss, finally feeling happy about this whole thing. They’d be all right, they’d really be all right…
And then she hit him with that. "What did you do while I was gone?"
“Um…” How could he do this? Lie to her? He’d never lied to her before unless he really needed to. This…would only cause more lies in the future…this could never get them anywhere. This was wrong. “Well…” Soften the blow? “I was a mess…” He looked off to her side, focusing on the pattern of the sheets, getting lost in faces and shapes he made out. “For a while. But then…I kinda…” Cal glanced up at her. How can you tell someone you got over them? That while they were gone…you would’ve let their memory fade to the background? Well…that would be how it was gonna sound. It wasn’t the truth…he’d never let her fade away. She would’ve always been there, no matter how hard he tried to forget… “I accepted it,” Callum swallowed deeply and looked up at her from under thick eyelashes, trying not to look like he’d been ok with it, simply that he accepted the way things were. “I…I made a friend…” Shit, did he really need to tell her about this? Couldn’t he just leave out the superfluous information?
No. She needed to know. Hell, she’d just slept with him. It could’ve very well been Natty last night in her place…

slow it down, make it stop before my heart is going to pop • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • She arched an eyebrow as she looked at him and he seemed to look away. Well, it didn't entirely hurt her to lean that he had 'accepted it'. She figured he would-he would have to. It wasn;t like she was suppose to come back. It wasn't, in her opinion, what God intended. It was as if they were playing God-the division. They gave her life and they could just as easily take it away as if it wasn't her's.
Then he said he made a new friend. The way he said it...
Her finger seemed to twitch at the new realization. He had a girlfriend. Just by the tone of his voice...Gopi figured it out. Gloria...It took a second for her to actually realise this until the files came up and it said whom he was most often seen with when he wasn't alone.
"Natasha Davidson..." the name sort of slipped out before she had a chance to think about what she was doing. Okay, she should have just listened to him instead of going through his file, but curiosity killed the cat.
"She's your girlfriend?" it didn't come out harsh or angry. It came out as a genuine question and nothing more. She had to be his girlfriend. If not he wouldn't have left his sentence simply suspended in mid air like that. He would have continued. A friend was someone you could easily talk about to your lover because they were just a friend. But she had to be something more if he didn't continue.
She wasn't looking at him. Instead she was looking over at the closet, her arm outstretching as if reaching for something but her body remaining still as she gave a small movement of her fingers as the door easily sliding open before a silky black night gown came out and landed in her hand. She slipped away from Cal, detangeling herself carefully so she wouldn't hurt him, and then moved the night gown so it sliped on her with out her actually touching it before she did the same with the matching robe in the closet.
Anything to avoid eye contact.
But she had no reason to get angry-which was why she wasn't. He had every right to have a girlfriend...
What botheredher was that now it all felt wrong and right at the same time. Right because the whole thing felt complete. Wrong because he just cheated on Natasha with her...She was basically the other woman and it wasn;t exactly the greatest feeling in the world.
"How long have you been with her?" General questions. Surface questions. Avoiding the real topic. No arguements this morning. There was no reason to argue if it already happened....

DON’T BE SO AMAZING,
I’LL MISS YOU TOO MUCH. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Sometimes…well, within the last few days of knowing she was alive, he thought he would much prefer it if she didn’t have that little ability to know everything. Where the hell was she getting this information anyway? It didn’t seem fair…shouldn’t she give him the opportunity to explain himself? This was about him and his ‘friend’ anyway right? It didn’t seem right that she should be able to do…some weird thing—she’d now linked it with the girls mind/eyesight and fingers. Her hands always did this weird thing, and her eyes always refocused, and then she’d baffle him with this weird knowledge of every damn thing known to man. It angered him…just a bit.
He rolled his eyes as she stated Nat’s name and tried his best to remain calm under the circumstances, no matter how difficult it was. Cal had spent a grand deal of the last few years trying to control his anger and he hadn’t lashed out on Natasha once, there was no need for him to break that now. And for Gloria of all people. Or was this…Gopi? No, Gopi would want him dead. Gopi would be telling him how right she was from the beginning and how stupid Gloria was for falling for his hopelessly romantic antics. One thing he wouldn’t be able to stand, someone talking about Gloria as if she were as dumb as the day she were born. Gloria knew what she was doing. Which was another fact that frightened him. Information like this was enough for him to lose her, if he didn’t play it right. She was a smart girl, he just had to try and be smarter. Tough luck.
“Yeah, Natty, she’s just…” “She’s your girlfriend?” She cut him off almost immediately. A look of sheer curiosity plastered on her face. She didn’t look mortified…yet. Hell, he didn’t know what to expect out of her this time. It was like opening Pandora’s box. An entire world of new things flooded towards him. What’d he do now? “Um…” he looked at her, buried deeply in his own thoughts. “Uh, yeah…I guess…” What was he gonna do? Lie to her? She’d figure it out sooner or later. Scratch that, she’d figure it out, sooner than later. She wasn’t dumb. “The uh…the girl from the club…” He scratched the back of his neck and folded his hands in his lap, the blankets strategically covering what they couldn’t cover on their own.
This wasn’t fair…
She’d pulled away but now clothing was floating past him and on to her and he frowned, “Babe, don’t do this…” Now she was upset. Sure she wasn’t showing it, and hell he figured she was probably telling herself she wasn’t upset. But she was…of course she was. Else she would’ve never left him. Ever. “You asked!” He sat there looking and feeling helpless, staring over at her covered form. “Did you want me to be alone forever? I needed a distraction, Gloria.” How else could he explain himself? She was a girl…they always wanted something specific. What was that?
How long? How long, how long… Cal stared at the sheets for countless moments before shrugging and releasing a defeated sigh, “A little under a year now…” Fuck.

slow it down, make it stop before my heart is going to pop • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Gee glanced over her shoulder at him as she started towards the door, her face curious...and blank,"Are you sure she was just a distraction?"
It was Gopi who was starting to take over again, in order to keep herself calm. If Gloria was still in full control, she probably would have gotten pissed and simply walked away. Gopi was semi-confronting it...sort of.
"Distractions don't last an entire year," she did not walk out, instead, leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed at her torso as she kept her eyes on his,"If I didn't come back...If you never saw me again...I bet, on my life, that you would end up marrying her."
Gopi was using statistics. This was simply how she wa starting to function. The transitions between Gloria and Gopi were becoming a bit smoother, and less noticable. Because, it seemed as if, the two were actually combining to make one. Because murder wasn't constantly on Gopi's mind now. She now had Callum on her mind, her past, the things she did to people, regret, remorse...Gopi was becoming more human than she ever intended to be.
"It isn't a big deal," she exhaled and smiled, completely calm. She was surprised she was being so calm about this. Shouldn't she be pissed...? Envious-she slightly was. But that wasn't something that she needed to show considering she slept with Cal last night and Nattie didn't. That was another thing that gave him away. The nickname. If she was just a distraction, why not say her name fully? Natasha. He didn't say that. He said Natty so obviously-she was more than just a distraction.
She had this feling in the pit of her stomach that she shouldn't have come back. Maybe he would have married her, had kids like he wanted to...And it wasn't to late to 'make things right'. Just because she loved him did not mean she was right for him. This Natasha Davidson woman. Her files were impecible. She was a teacher, people never had bad comments about her, she obviously was good with kids...She was sweet-sounding. Just like Callum. They were both sweet-both sounded romantic...Why wouldn't they be together?
She was suppose to be dead afterall.
Really...she always pictured him as someone who would end up settling down-eventually...no matter what actually. That he would eventually find someone, because Gloria wasn't the only fish in the sea, and end up loving that person more than he could ever love someone and end up marrying them and having kids...Growing old with that person....Seeing their grandkids...hopefully greatgrandkids...
If Gloria hadn't come back, Natty would be that person. She, in a sense, took that away from her-even if it was for only one night,"I never want you to be alone, regardless of whether I was alive or not."
It was the truth. People died everyday and their loved ones had to move on. Then why did it bother her that Callum had gotten someone else?
Gloria seemed to nudge Gopi before whispering to her,"Because you wish that someone else was you."
